I never knew what darkness was. I was the sunshine in my parent’s life.
Everything was fine until I knew I'd already caught a golden boy’s attention. I thought I knew about him. But what I didn't know was, there was a bloodthirsty beast hiding under the golden boy charm.
He tore my walls. He forced himself into my life. I didn’t ask for that. But I was the one to blame for giving in to him.
I went against my parents’ will just to be with him. But now I was suffering. Between life and death.
He took a life to marry me. Just to get revenge on me. He vowed to me when he tied the knot mangalsutra around my neck. In front of the holy fire.
“You think you can run away from me? Marry someone and live happily? You’re fucking delusional, Diya. You don’t deserve happiness. You don’t deserve peace, freedom, or any of the shit you think you’re entitled to.”
My stomach felt the churn.
“I’m going to destroy your life, piece by piece. I’ll be your grim reaper, but you won’t get the sweet release of death. That’s too easy. I’ll make you wish you were dead, but you won’t die. You’ll live every miserable second, trapped in this hell I created for you.”
That moment I realized, This wasn’t the man I used to love. This was a reincarnated monster.
But I was ready for this. The kind of hell he created for me, tortured me and held me in the agony, despair and the need for death.
Now I am nothing. Just an empty shell, lost in the ruins of what once was, forgotten in the echoes of his cruelty.
